EtherNet/IP

EtherNet/IP is an industrial networking standard that takes advantage of commercial off-the-shelf Ethernet communication chips and physical media. IP is short for 'Industrial Protocol'. Unlike the many options available in the NEW industrial Ethernets, EtherNet/IP uses an open protocol at the application layer.

PROFINET

PROFINET is a standard for industrial networking in automation. It connects devices, systems, and cells, facilitating faster, safer, less costly, and higher quality manufacturing. It easily integrates existing systems and equipment while bringing the richness of Ethernet down to the factory floor.

DeviceNet

The DeviceNet Network is an open, global industry-standard communication network.

Modbus TCP/IP

Modbus TCP/IP is a serial communications protocol published by Schneider Electric for use with its programmable logic controllers (PLCs).

Profibus

The PROFIBUS Interface Option is available on several Hardy weighing instruments.

Ethernet

Ethernet TCP/IP connectivity is available on many Hardy weighing instruments through a standard RJ-45 port. Features such as Embedded Web Server can be accessed via this Ethernet TCP/IP port.

Analog

Hardy's Analog output option provides both 0-20mA to 4-20mA and 0-5V to 0-10V simultaneously with 16,000 counts of resolution.

Each weight controller handles analog signals a little differently.

Serial

A Serial interface comes standard on most of Hardy's weight controllers. Hardy provides various versions of standard serial communications based on the product model purchased.

Modbus RTU

Modbus RTU is an open, serial (RS-232 or RS-485) protocol derived from the Controller/Device architecture. It is a widely accepted protocol due to its ease of use and reliability. Modbus RTU is widely used within Industrial Automation Systems (IAS). This wide acceptance is due in large part to MODBUS RTU’s ease of use.
